Lord Of The Rings

No, we’re not going to be discussing about The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I was hooked up on ‘em yesterday and watched the whole saga in one night so that’s probably the most familiar four words that are in my mind right now. Good stuff is good! Before everything else, I would like to apologize for yesterday’s article regarding Gravekeeper’s Watcher. I took it down because I got my facts wrong and I don’t want to screw shit up. It was misleading. To those who read it, that shit is wrong! Sorry for the confusion and thank you Ventus from No Names for reminding me! Anyhow, Extra Pack 2012 has a lot of jank foils and the good stuffs are climbing into three digits fast.

To kick things forward, please check out LFN’s post on Doomcaliber Knight. It’s a good read so do take time to read up. I found it rather refreshing. So, now on today’s topic, as I mentioned before I am looking for a replacement for Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo in my Hieratics deck and both Doomcaliber Knight and Breaker the Magical Warrior were the most suitable in my opinion. I was dying for a new Dark ally. Desperate really but another method that has been growing in popularity lately especially in explosive deck is the Main-Decking of instant one-for-one trades like Smashing Ground. Analyzing a little deeper, Smashing Ground is a good card and obviously it deals with problem cards like Raioh and Krystia for example without breaking a sweat. But in a format where Heroes are a prominent deck and Chaos Dragons potentially returning to the scene Smashing Ground might not be the best one-off-trade tech this format. Talking about Malaysia’s line of Meta we are. The shizzles here: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Soul_Taker

                                                    (Precious...My Precious...Tasty Precious...)

No need for introductions. Soul Taker was one of the most played cards in the TCG competitive scene. It probably seen a fraction of play in OCG but not everyone thought of it as the best card to combat Chaos Dragons. A differentiation of opinions and tactics so no helping it. Regardless of that matter, I find Soul Taker a better one-off-tech for this format in comparison to cards like Smashing Ground or Hammer Shot simply because it allows you to choose your designated target for destruction. Sometimes you rather destroy another card despite Smashing’s indication of another card. The privilege to be able to choose which card to destroy is table-turning big. The other advantage lies in the obvious reason why this card sees play in the first place, the ability to cause some cards to miss-timing. With Heroes being the big bad wolf next to Wind-Ups in Malaysia, screwing with Shining gives you more than satisfaction it gives you assurance. Well, that’s one example, if Chaos Dragons do become Tier 1.5 or 2 than fucking up Lightpulsar Dragon is one of those things you need to have in mind. Having a means to deal with massive problem cards provides you with a colossal chance to close Game One in favour of you.

Having said all that, I am not the biggest fan of healing my opponents but if it comes with benefits than fuck the thousand points. Given that 1000LP can cause you to go gaga over a minority of issues like re-activating your opponent’s dead Solemn Warning or keeping your supposedly dead opponent alive after a fierce rush on damage, high risks brings high rewards is all I can say. Nothing is perfect but do remember so things are worth the shots. So, this could be my replacement in Hieratics. I’d probably just drop LPD to one and rely on Tragoedias, Gorz, and my hidden arsenal of DARK Extra Deck bullies as fodder for Chaos combos. In general, Soul Takers are good enough to be in the front lines. Though that all depends the player. That’s all for today and I hope this has been a good thought-provoking read. Thank you for spending time here!

Digitalist Profile, 6

I promised to post this up last month but unfortunately I had some rough setbacks but I am here to keep that promise now. Today’s article is an introduction to a deck evolved from Teleport Hieratics, I call it Hieratics Overdrive. Well, the name is really there just for the kicks. It is still a Hieratics variant that utilizes Emergency Teleport and Psychic Tuners to nullify the absence of some power cards like Red-eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. Of course, this one comes with a surprise tech which is Overdrive Teleporter. Another day, another OTK. Life is fulfilling indeed.

Hieratic Dragon of Su x3
Hieratic Dragon of Eset x3
Card Car D x3
Psychic Commander x3
Overdrive Teleporter x2

Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon x1
Wattaildragon x1
Meteor Dragon x1
(Monsters-24)

Mystical Space Typhoon x3
Emergency Teleport x3
Forbidden Lance x2
Hieratic Seal of Convocation x2
Pot of Duality x2
Heavy Storm x1
Monster Reborn x1
(Spells-14)

Call of the Haunted x3
(Traps-3)

EXTRA DECK:

Scrap Dragon x1
Stardust Dragon x1
Thought Ruler Archfiend x1
XX-Saber Gottoms x1
Hyper Psychic Blaster x1
Wind-Up Zenmaines x1
Tiras, Keeper of Genesis x1
No.61: Volcasaurus x1
No.25: Force Focus x1
Photon Streak Bouncer x1
Swordbreaker x1
Hieroglyph Dragon King-Atumus x2
Gaia Dragoon, the Thunder Charger x2

Previously, I’ve already explained a big part on how E-Tele works with Hieratics in an older deck profile post. If you miss out on that, please do check it out to get a better understanding on how to play this deck. It is actually quite easy to find your personal style with this deck. Now, let us take a look at the newer techs included into this version of the deck. First up would be Max Teleporter or Overdrive Teleporter.

                      (Visit here for effect: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Overdrive_Teleporter)

What does this guy do here? While it might look slightly unnecessary to play this card, Max Teleporter spices things up in a lot of ways. One thing I have always discussed about is how Hieratics sometimes need a beater that goes over 2800 and Overdrive Teleporter gives you that by allowing you to go into Hyper Psychic Blaster. A 3000 bully with decent effects. Now if you switch out the conventional Emerald Dragon for Meteor Dragon, you pretty much have access to XX-Saber Gottoms which is another 3100 bully that can be summoned with two cards, namely, Psychic Commander and Meteor Dragon if you do replace Emerald Dragon for it. That’s an option one can take to increase his or her chances of OTK. A hand of Tefnuit and Overdrive Teleporter can easily turn into a field of 4 cards provided if you encounter no disturbance during the process.

Overdrive Teleporter is in here to ensure your OTK chances improves. That’s the main purpose. You can tweak the deck to let it have the ability to go into Naturia Synchros but I wouldn’t bother since all I want to concentrate on is to survive, collect my resources, Exceed once and make sure people die. You get the drill. Though Teleporter can be a dead draw at times, it gives you high reward combos that usually end up as good news for you. A simple play of attacking with Overdrive Teleporter and double Psychic Commanders already gives you a total amount of 4900 damage so imagine the creativity in digits when you are allowed to go nuts. Before I forget, Max is a Level 6 as well giving you the ability to go into a Rank 6 and Rank 3 Exceed in one turn when you can’t do shit. Still, a decent way to make a living. Next up, we got this guy.

                       (Visit here for effect: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Solar_Wind_Jammer)
Solar Wind Jammer is one of those cards I initially saw potential for it in Karakuris. After going into a deeper thought, this card can do amazing stunts in Hieratics as well. I chose this card over Ghost Ship or Cyber Dragon due to its similar Special Summoning ability as Photon Thrasher which is good for Turn 1 setups or desperate measure. A Wind Jammer and Eset nets you a Rank 5 Exceed monster. The best thing about this card would probably be the synergy it has together with Hieratic Dragons and Emergency Teleport. For example, if you open with a hand of Solar Wind Jammer, Hieratic Dragon of Eset, Hieratic Dragon of Su, and Emergency Teleport during Turn 1 you might as well conclude with a field of Stardust Dragon, Hieroglyph Dragon King-Atumus or Gaia Dragoon, zero stats REDMD, and a random dragon. That could spell OTK the next turn but obviously there are many ways more to play around with this tech in Hieratics Overdrive.

The next advantage to take notice of is how well Solar Wind Jammer works together with E-Tele or Psychic Commander. An instant Level 8 Synchro of your choice depending on the scenario you’re in is quite a keeper.  Stardust for protection, Scrap Dragon to pop stuff off the field, Thought Ruler Archfiend if you read D.Prisons, or even go into stall mode with Colossal Fighter if you can’t handle a bigger monster for now. For God’s sake, you can make Red Dragon Archfiend if you like. Depending on your match-up, Solar Wind Jammer can prove to be useful. It’s a tech with generic and situational plays. If you don’t like it, there are always cards like Tragoedia and Gorz that would work well with this deck.

Hieratics Overdrive has the capability to go into different styles and tactics depending on the scenario you’re in and the kind of player you are. Whether it is OTK, Aggro, or Control this deck offers a fair deal. Personally, I’d like to just close the deal in one attempt. Just to add in, My Body As A Shield works really well in this deck. Here comes the end of today’s post. I hope you have enjoyed reading and I apologize for the long wait. Remember to play smart, fight hard, or go home a loser. Thank you for dropping by!

Mr Chow Says "You Had A Bad Day? Did You Die?"

Saturday is Yugioh day! Well, things are back to routine for me. I must say breathing in more oxygen does make a difference and today’s outing has gotten my body back to normal functions. Aside from all the non-smoking progression, I managed to catch up on Malaysia’s Yugioh growth after the announcement of promo legality (been out of touch for nearly a month.) I must say half of what I wrote remains true and Heroes are flooding the scene fast. Wind-Ups are getting a lot of hype, plenty of talk and excitement revolving around them so it is safe to assume their dominance once Extra Pack 2012 comes into play. Play-testing and brushing back my skills was my main concern today. I did some intense training with my teammates and Mike from Dueling Legacy. Thanks to that I realize a few things with Hanzo Hieratics.

The survival of Hanzo Hieratics in this format is not exactly a big deal. Whether they see play or not doesn’t really matter since the less they see play, the better it becomes for me. LOL! Talking about Hanzo Hieratics, with the format fast approaching into a Turn-One-Raioh-Opening-Play, starting with Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo in your hand isn’t exactly as solid as the previous format (even if you take Turn 1.) In the previous format, opening with Hanzo in Hieratics was one of the most consistent and powerful plays but as we approach the new format things have taken a new trip. Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation is a beast, still a beast, but not as wild as it was. Plus 1800 ATK is no longer big enough to protect and ensure a successful power play. Also, I doubt the Hanzo-Transformation duo does much against Mermails and Wind-Ups. Forgive me as I was absent in the new format for nearly a month, if I realize this a ‘lil too late.

Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation plays was pretty easy to disturb last format and it has become even easier to break that play this format with so many Gemini Sparks, MSTs, and similar cards around. Not to mention staring down a Raioh when you have Hanzo in hand. So, in many ways Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo has become a sub-par card this format together with Super-Transformation. It takes up 5-6 of your Main Deck slots but no longer as good as before. FUCK! I like Hanzo a lot but I have to admit he isn’t doing much good in this format and I want to run a Hieratic variant that has a fair amount of DARK monsters so I can perform more selfish Chaos plays with Lightpulsars and everybody’s best friend BLS to OTK others. In many ways, going Chaos with Hieratics is the only path for me to walk at the moment. Sounds about right (or not?)

I am currently wrecking my brain trying to come with a suitable replacement for Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo and the only two DARK monsters I can think of is Doomcaliber Knight and Breaker the Magical Warrior. Both come with a nifty 1900 body and they both do pretty good stuff. DCK can negate monster effects, baits plenty of stuff, and replaces Effect Veiler in the deck while you have the option to run Maxx “C” as your number one hand trap. Though it is easy to play around Doomcaliber, he has proven to be a good one-for-one from time to time. However, still a situational card. In the case of Breaker, starting off with him and a MST in hand pretty ensures Eset plays for me during the next turn. Baits stuff as usual while having suicidal tendencies with Raioh and Another Neos. At this point, I’m crazy enough to consider BF-Sirocco the Dawn as an option just to run over 1900 beaters and to fuel my Graveyard with DARK elements. Will it be Doomcaliber, Breaker, or the jokingly Sirocco? Your comments are much appreciated!

"Fear Not! My Mighty 2k Dark Powers Are The Shits!"

This ended up becoming another long post. Guess I’m starting to get my muse back. Let me know what you think with DCK and Breaker. If you have better suggestions, please feel free to enlighten me. It doesn’t hurt me to try out new stuff. Photon Thrashers seems like a good inclusion but I don’t know I am in a weird state of mind right now. This is pretty much everything I have to say today. Thank you for dropping by and stay tune for more updates!

Rough Month

September hasn’t been kind to me and I must apologize for the lack of posts. Just after a week when I decided to quit smoking I was infected with Dengue fever. I’ll tell you this, surviving the fever together with your body fighting withdrawal symptoms from nicotine is definitely not a fun thing to try out. So, to those who don’t smoke keep it up because seriously having your body re-adjusts to nicotine-free condition sucks much. To those who do smoke, best of luck in quitting! Withdrawal symptoms are fierce but it’s worth the fight. As of now, I’m free from nicotine for a month and that means more money for Yugioh stuff! Moving on, i haven't had time to reply anything in Facebook due to recovery stages. I ask those who trying to contact me to be patient as i will reply as soon as i can.

Aside from that, Baha has once again made wacky loops with Infernities. This time with the help of Dewloren. I must say, fantastic job. Though it isn’t something practical but it shows how much potential Infernities hold. I doubt people will start playing the deck here in this side of Asia even with the availability of promos but it is still fun to have insane self-touch combos out there. Good job to Baha again! I hope he creates more crazy stuff like that. Well, I’m here to apologize to my readers for the lack of content during the previous month and Digital Mortal will be back with more updates this month. I’m feeling much better now so there will be time for Yugioh related activities. Stay tune readers! Once again, sorry for the lack of content! Thanks for dropping by!
