Digitalist Profile, 5

Hey there, what’s good people? It’s been awhile now. I hope everyone is enjoying the new format more than the previous one. YCS Toronto passed and it’s clear enough to TCG that one of their Tier 1 decks will be Wind-Ups. I’m pretty positive with Wind-Ups flooding the OCG scene as well when we get the missing pieces. How dominant will they be? That’s a different story. Finally had some time to go back to Yugioh after two long weeks of work. With all my work done for moment, I’ll like to share the deck I played to qualify for Asia Plus two weeks back. I’m sorry for the late update, to all those who has been asking for the deck-list in Facebook. So, without further ado let’s get right in the deck I call Teleport Hieratics.

This deck was originally inspired when I experiment with Tele-Tef. I was amazed with the idea and concept of Tele-Tef but I didn’t enjoy how the deck plays out. After tweaking here and there, I decided to just scratch it and built a whole new deck which has similar functions and so came Teleport Hieratics. In case you were wondering why Effect Veilers, Pot of Dualities, Mystical Space Typhoons, Monster Reborn, and Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning are missing, I wasn’t playing any. We shared one banned list and my team members needed those cards more than me. So, I figured I’ll just create something else that does stand a chance against other decks in the Meta. Against impossibly broken decks like Inzektors, I’ve my trusty Side-Deck to knock it up a notch.

How does the deck work? It is Hieratics and it is an OTK deck. As mentioned before, there are times when you need to commit onto the field with Hieratics just to keep the game in check but the fear of mass removal comes in mind making players who pilot Hieratics slightly skeptical with the idea of such a big risk. Or there are times when the coast is clear for game but players lack little amounts more of damage to seal the deal. Emergency Teleport solves those problems. You can either combo off and deplete your hand resources to push for a big amount of damage and set up a sort of countermeasure in case of mass removals like Dark Hole or play smart with Emergency Teleport by calculating how much damage you can inflict with the usual tricks and then improvise by using Synchro Monsters to close the game for real. Emergency Teleport opens up those possibilities for Hieratics. Whether you need a Stardust to compensate the lost of hand cards, Scrap Dragon for nifty tricks, or even when you’re looking for a bigger body of 3000ATK, E-Tele gives you those exclusive access where you normally wouldn't get from a standard Hieratics deck. No Gustav Max reference.

The deck is not much different from a standard Hieratics built when it comes to combo and killing but having E-Teles and Hanzos in the deck gives you that added advantage you need when it comes to finding different alternatives instead of sticking to the same ‘ol tricks Hieratics are good with. In a way, Teleport Hieratics allows OTK (for sure) and control plays depending on what suits the current situation of the duel. It would be even better if I had Sacred Ptolemys Messier 7 to mess around with. Sometimes you need a bigger monster to kill another monster, Void Ogre Dragon or Red Demon Dragon is your answer. Void Ogre is also another Shi En so i don't see why not. Now that Emergency Teleport is back to Unlimited, you can imagine the tons of combos and resources you can add in a Hieratics deck. Consistency-wise, this deck is pretty well done. One thing to remember is the balance between Psychic Tuners and the amount of Emergency Teleports in the deck, I do not recommend running three Psychic Tuners and triple Emergency Teleport at the same time. Drawing those Tuners when you need them in the deck really sucks even if you are holding a copy of Emergency Teleport.

With Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Hieratic Seal of Convocation, and Pot of Duality making a debut in the latest banned list, this deck is one of those alternatives Hieratics can go to. The speed and consistency of Hieratics aren’t to be underestimated even after receiving multiple blows from the banned list. I’ll most probably be running this deck for the rest of year until I find a better form for Hieratics. Readers can leave a comment or message me in Facebook if you are interested in how the deck looks like with staples and such. I’ll do an update later on. There you have it Teleport Hieratics. This is all for today. I’ll be back into the scene this week so stay tune for more updates and insights from Malaysia. Remember to play smart, fight hard, or go home a loser! Thank you for reading!

  2. You played with the March banlist, right? Did you already think of some alternative for the now 2 missing REDMD? I tried something similiar with the last banlist too, but haven't edited it for the new list yet. Thought of 2 D-Hero Malicious, not sure although.

    1. Yeah, this deck was built during the March banned list. I've constructed a few new variants for Hieratics. Will probably post them up soon enough. I tried Malicious but didn't like it in the deck.
