Digitalist Profile, 4

Recently, I found out about a deck which was innovated based on one of the most popular Meta decks of all time. That is, of course, TeleDAD. I was not around during that era but I have read a lot about it and done plenty of research, analysis to fill in what I have missed out, This new innovation is called TefnuitDAD. My initial opinion on the deck was not exactly a good one. It seems rather random even though it is quite an explosive deck. I toyed around with it for a day and found out it was actually quite a stable deck that has plenty of forms and potential. Not necessarily Tier 1 material but it could pose a challenge to the Meta as of now. I am still working on it to see how far it can go and I came up with my own variant. If you have not seen or heard about it this is how the deck looks like:

Tele-Tefnuit/Tele-TEF/TefnuitDAD

Hieratic Dragon of Tefnuit x3
Hieratic Dragon of Su x3
Tour Guide of the Underworld x3
Effect Veiler x2
Krebons x2
Destiny Hero-Malicious x2
Destiny Hero-Dasher x2
Elemental Hero Stratos x1
Photon Thrasher x1
Sangan x1
Caius the Shadow Monarch x1
Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon x1
Wattaildragon x1
Dark Armed Dragon x1
Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning x1
(Monsters-25)

Hieratic Seal of Convocation x3
Mystical Space Typhoon x3
Emergency Teleport x2
Destiny Draw x2
Allure of Darkness x1
Pot of Avarice x1
Heavy Storm x1
Monster Reborn x1
Foolish Burial x1
(Spells-15)

Torrential Tribute x1
(Traps-1)

Tele-TEF works the same as Tele-DAD in a way but what I have done here focuses on OTK and creating a solid field if the combo happens to be disturbed or broken. I must say this deck plays around popular staple well enough especially Effect Veiler but like every other Combo-based decks it suffers in the hands of Maxx “C”. Traps will be Traps. The Tele-DAD part of this deck is as you can see the Destiny Hero engine but that is definitely not the key to your winning condition. Those are your support. Tele-TEF, as I would like to call it, revolves around OTK and that means you play with Atumus. So, how is it different from a standard Hieratic deck? This deck incorporates more Synchro plays in it compared to what Hieroglyphs do in common. And that is thanks to Emergency Teleport and Krebons. Stardust Dragon is back in action!

This deck is capable of dealing with various scenarios well enough due to its ability to summon different kind of monsters from your Extra Deck to remedy the situation you are in. You have access to powerhouse Exceeds like Photon Streak Bouncer, Focus Force, Leviair and Zenmaines. In comparison to the most popular builds existing now, Tele-TEF depends highly on Atumus to close the match. Being a Hieros player myself, I consider this as one of the many variants Hieratics can adopt to better suit the individual’s needs. Although Atumus is the key to victory, the deck has many alternatives it can take. One of them is utilizing Queen Dragun Djinn. Other than that, like I mentioned above Tele-TEF can create a lot of different formations to beat, lock, or rush your opponents. Bear in mind, this is not the best build yet as I am working on a build that does not rely on Tour Guide even though she can save lives. Or in a way, ruins life for others.

As the name suggests, this deck excels if you go second. That instantly gives you Tefnuit plays and if your opponent does not have anything to stop you or if you have the right amount of cards to combo off then you are most likely to win. What if you go first? This is where TGU comes in. Not only does she has the ability to let you plus, Tour Guide helps you setup early to hold your board or disturb the flow of your opponent. She gives you access to Leviair which can come in handy at times. That is one of the main reason why I am reluctant to remove her from this deck. For the rest of the random LV6s, with Tefnuit you can easily Tribute Summon them and go into Rank 6 Exceeds if you need so. Caius is still a very good card to remove unwelcomed shit on the field. Bouncer and Focus Force is…Well, you get the picture.

I mentioned that the deck escapes Veiler pretty well but it does sufficient amount of damage unless you are putting out Synchros or Exceeds that generally are not affected much by Veiler. Again, the key to victory here is Atumus. With Atumus comes Gaia Dragoon. That is the biggest problem with the deck. It has so much capability to play multiple kinds of Synchros and Exceeds you never have enough space to fit in everything in your Extra Deck. Though that is somewhat a good thing because like Plants players can easily mod Tele-TEF or TefnuitDAD according to their own idea of how the deck should function. Here are some of the combos my version can do.

ATUMUS-GAIA OTK
Hand Cards: Double Tefnuit or Su, Seal of Gathering x1, Emergency Teleport x1
Special Summon Tefnuit, Tribute to Special Summon Su and Wattaildragon.
Exceed into Atumus and Special Summon another Hieratic Dragon.
(Repeat the process until you have triple Atumus on the field with an extra dragon.)
Activate Emergency Teleport to Special Summon Krebons to go synch that extra dragon into Stardust Dragon.
Overlay Atumus into Gaia Dragoon.
TOTAL DAMAGE: 2600+2600+2600+2500=10300

4 cards to secure a potential OTK and to protect your field from massive destruction. This is the most common combo in this deck. Again, it requires the pilot to be creative with what he or she has to create something capable of blowing opponents’ lights out. The next combo I would like to share comes from Queen Dragun Djinn.

QUEEN DRAGUN COMBO
Hand Cards: Photon Thrasher x1, Elemental Hero Stratos x1, Foolish Burial x1
Special Summon Photon Thrasher, Normal Summon Stratos (Search).
Exceed into Queen Dragun Djinn and use Foolish Burial to dump REDMD.
Queen Dragun’s effect to Special Summon REDMD.

From here, there are a couple of possibilities depending on the rest of your hand cards. If you have two Hieratic Dragons you can continue on to make an Atumus to further secure you field the next turn. And if you have Emergency Teleport, you can virtually make any LV8 Synchro Monster. I am sure readers can see the possibilities Queen Dragun combo can unlock for you. Plus, this deck has quite a number of random plays you can make depending on what cards you are holding and the situation you are in. The above two plays are some examples how this deck can play out.

I am looking to evolve this deck into a weapon that is capable of dishing out Queen Dragun combos consistently and I am trying to fit in more Warrior related cards to create more OTK routes for this deck. Blade Heart and Excalibur are badass! Perhaps this deck can help Hieratics reach a new level of competitiveness. I cannot say for sure. For now, this is what I have to share and hopefully there will be more updates on this deck here in Digital Mortal. In a nutshell, this deck is definitely something fun to play with and it packs a punch, a really hard punch. It is truly a deck that portrays the player’s identity and personality. So, go and play around a bit with Tele-TEF. Before ending this article, I find Emergency Teleport to be quite an interesting tech in Hieroglyphs. Experiment with it maybe? That’s all for today folks. Remember to play smart, fight hard or go home a loser. Thanks for coming by!

  1. Hmm this reminds me of that Diva Destiny HERO Hieratic deck i was using for a short while.
I didn't think of using the etele engine though, while it doesn't plus like the diva engine, it's true that it won't eat up your normal summon :o

    1. Time to remind the community how broken E-Tele is. XD Yeah, it allows a lot of combo to go off but as usual over-extending and hand depletion is a problem to keep in mind.

    2. Thinking about it, this style of deck would be pretty nutty if DMoC was ever unbanned lol

    3. Gut feeling tells me he's coming back. Fingers crossed.

  2. nice deck idea. I'm currently toying around with a different version of this deck that focuses more on summoning a legion of Jinzos instead of using the D-hero engine.

also, have you tried using instant fusion on this deck? pretty good if you draw those tribute monsters when going first or if your opponent didn't summon anything. it also makes a three-card OTK with veiler and BLS if your opponent has a monster in attack position.

    1. Thank you! Yes, i've tried Instant Fusion. I like it in this deck but unfortunately due to Extra Deck space i decided to drop the idea. I'll be working on giving this deck a twist.

  3. Sup kyde! Glad to see im not alone here hehe.

Having tested this deck, the following are some conclusions that I have come up with.

Plaguespreader might still be needed when u do get those double malicious hands, or simply malicious in hand and one in grave. With all the searching and drawing in this deck is has happened quite abit. As much as I don't like being held back a draw, simply stacking malicious for plague then using one of the 137472848 ways to search your deck off sets it.

Triple suu looks cloggy when you don't have a convocation or tefnuit. I would drop the number of suu for some duality, since you need to dig for your pieces(like ddraw, convocation etc etc)

You should try out enemy controller in this deck, works so deliciously good. So many floaters, and tributing off a tefnuit/suu that became a bth target is amazing. Works alot like how it used to work in TCG plants.

Also, how has 2 tele 2 krebons worked out for you? I feel very inclined to put in psychic tuner #3 lol.

    Cheers,
    Wesley

    1. Hey man, how's everything going? Yes, i agree on Plaquespreader. That card is too good not to run in this deck and i am currently looking for space. Regarding Su, indeed it clogs a lot. I'm probably gonna drop it to 2 and currently looking for better ways to improve this deck. This deck needs Duality but i am hoping to be able to create a build that does not rely on it too much. If all else fails, Duality it is.

Enemy Controller, i forgot about this card seriously! I see where you're going with this and it is interesting. Will definitely try it out. Thanks for the heads up mate! Double E-Tele and Krebons...Amazing things happen bro! LOL! Yes, i would like to add in another Psychic Tuner. Perhaps Psychic Commander. Depending on how the deck evolves, i might just change the whole structure of it to make it something new. Also, i'm testing out Ally Genex Birdman and Zephyros in here.

Again, thanks for your opinions! It'll prove to be helpful. Thank you! :)

    1. Thanks! If both of those cards are at three, you'll most likely see more Synchrocentric decks that can spam Quasar like nothing.

  5. Void Ogre Dragon + Hieratic otk = delicious

Personally I would like to tech in Dark Grepher if possible so I could spam easy level 4 exceeds and get my graveyard filled up quickly. Photon Thrasher is an amazing card but I've never liked it for some reason but that's your choice preference and its a good one as well. I'm a bit hesitant on how long it might take the deck to set up sometimes for DaD combos and a bit worried on how consistent it might be but I'll have to try it for myself to find out.

    None the less wonderful idea.

    1. Void Ogre Dragon...Wow,there are a lot of ideas coming in from everyone. This is good. Dark Grepher is a good choice. Its in my list together with Armageddon Knight and Summoner Monk but i can't decide on how to switch things around yet. To be honest, this version isn't build to combo with DAD like Tele-DAD but i added in it as it can be quite useful. If Konami puts DAD back to 2 which is unlikely then we'll have more fun with DAD. LOL

Post up a version of yours if you manage to improve the consistency of this deck in terms of utilizing Tele-DAD's combos. It would be great to see another example for reference. And last but not least, thank you.

  6. testing this with duality and minus etele engine for consistency. im using more traps to fall back on. Very solid i would say.

    1. I'll try that out as well. This deck definitely needs Trap support but perhaps its because i prefer to do shit in one turn and people die. LOL! Don't bro the E-Tele engine is fun! Hehehe! Will definitely test out the changes you recommend.

  7. Dang, wrote a message, forgot to publish it, lol.
I said, try grepher in, along with plaguespreder, it leads to easy R6 with malicious. Said this, I'm going to try it, I'll let you know results, if I do any. And, awesome post, like always.

    1. Hehehe! Same thing happened to me earlier. I typed out a freaking essay and forgot to press reply. I'm going to try out Plaquespreader, Malicious, Armageddon Knight and Summoner Monk. Aite mate, let me know the results. And thank you!

  8. great job on this deck! i personally would prefer running 1 or 2 copies of chaos sorcerer though and i would probably drop d-hero dasher for them. but overall, it looks like a pretty fun deck to try out.

PS: somehow this deck feels like an exceed version of junk doppel lol (just that its dragons XD )

    1. Thank you! You can tech Chaos Sorcerer in it. That deck has no problem occupying Chaos monsters but i wouldn't recommend taking out Dashers because you need them as fodders for Destiny Draw. I'm actually in a process of changing this deck again. Might add another D-Hero so things move smoother.

Hehehe! Yes, its an Exceed version of Junk Doppel with the capabilities of splashing Synchros as well. I hope you have fun with it. :)

    2. arh d-draws i see. would you put tragoedias in though? to give u more synchro and exceed options.

    3. I'm trying out ever option available. In the process of building one which can be played in the Asia Format. Though its not as fun as this version. Trag seems like a nice tech.

  9. Does it works to you? Tried it, only times I won were with good OTK hands with Hieratics, nothing else. I usually, with first hand, stay locked there because of the lacking of cards to combo with. I'll explain it better, I draw into a Su, and a stratos, nothing to do here. Basically it's because there are too much different kinds of cards, it doesn't make the deck playable at all. I believe I'd try a different build, since I can't play with this one, lol.

    1. That's why its a work in progress. LOL! I've to agree that the one i've shared isn't the best of builds out there. Though i am experimenting a few ways with this deck and the one fit for Asia Format is actually a better build. I'd probably post it up sometime soon.
