I went to locals yesterday and it was the last Seed
Tournament for Asia Championship Qualifiers. That’s all not important cause I scrubbed
so bad in Game 3 against my opponent during the finals. God showed me triple
vanilla and a Rescue Rabbit opening hand and that pretty much states how
irrelevant the rest of the game is. The original plan stands, glory from
bottom! Anyway, I stand by Andrew’s statement as well. ACQ is going to be a
freaking death match during round one and two. Just pray that your draws are
good. LOL! Malaysia is now officially in ACQ week so to conclude all my Meta
observation, here is a list which is more or less the face of my country’s
competitive scene:
Tier 1:
4-Axis Fire Fist
Tier 1.5:
Verz
3-Axis Fire Fist
Tier 2:
Mermails
Rogues:
Incarnate Dragons
Geargia Karakuri
Dark Worlds
Six Sams
Heroes
Prophecy
Here’s the funny part, I doubt most of the 3-Axis have
Sirius in their Extra Deck but do expect to see the rest in action. Also to
take note, most of the Mermails you encounter during ACQ will be equipped with Stream
and Tidal. I guess it’s times like these where you either put up or shut up. There
you have it this is my speculation of how Asia Qualifiers’ Meta is going to
look like. Until next time, thank you for reading!
The decks categorized under rogue decks are interesting.
ReplyDeletePrice tag concerns and underrepresented.
DeleteSome are probably classified as rogue due to price tag, I would assume.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you assume right. Though the only one that probably shouldn't be categorized as rogue is Prophecy. However, i don't see them at all. Less than a few so its hard to call.
DeleteI mean, a lot of people own Batel and Junon because its old stuff but funny enough i don't see them at all in locals and all the talk focuses on Incarnate Dragons.
DeleteWTF. How can you categorize decks by price tag?
ReplyDeleteYou must be drunk, sir.
$$$ = POWER.
tier 1: $$$$$$
tier 2: $$$
the rest: poor man's deck
^ this. hahahaha
DeleteTo the guy above Mike, just in case you didn't know three of the most expensive decks in Malaysia are in the "rogue" category. Those being Incarnate Dragons, Heroes, and Prophecies. You, sir, should know the details before running your mouth.
DeleteIs the 4-axis Fire Fist really superior to the 3-axis ?_?
ReplyDeleteAnd we should be VERY grateful that those big Dragons are all SR. Else Dragons everywhere is nothing fun >_>
I doubt it is but the overall existence of Fire Fist in Malaysia revolves around 4-Axis and Sirius is a big price tag for a lot of players here. I mean, a pack of VE08 is RM200 (approx 400HKD?) and Sirius is over RM150 plus its a rare find.
DeleteHahaha! Pretty soon Dragons will take Tier 1 here. Expensive or not once a deck wins major people hop onto the bandwagon no matter how expensive it is.
