After a long hiatus I finally attended my first locals in
Gamers Arena today with Verz. I was hoping to test out the deck as much as I can
and smoothly make the transition from a straight-forward OTK deck to a
control-oriented deck and to my surprise I won with it. It is not much but
certainly a big boost of confidence and assurance that I am walking the right
path. The results does not matter since I was not planning to win but to learn
and morph my play-style as much as I can before Asia Championship Qualifiers
arrive in two weeks time (24th March.) So far I have two decks in
mind to compete with in ACQ 2013 and those two being Verz and Heroes. I have
not come to a decision yet but things are working quite well for me so I am hoping
for the best (desperate to get my first single-digit top!)
To see how things go, I might just attend locals again next
week with Heroes before coming to an ultimatum. Preparations are progressing in
the best of state right now and hopefully I can grind myself to reach top form for
Asia Qualifiers. Tomorrow is Singapore’s Asia Qualifiers, although it has no
concern towards Malaysia I feel it is best to keep an eye on how the event
comes down (Singapore is one of the most competitive community in OCG, arguable
one of the best in OCG if I must say.) Whether or not their results might
affect Malaysia’s Meta in such a short time will be a time-will-tell-tale. Last
but not least, good luck to every contender and may the IMBAness be with you!
Thank you for reading!
I hope one day I can win at my locals too.
