Right now almost every duelist in Malaysia is busy doing
prep work for the upcoming major tournament, Asia Championships 2012 Plus.
Arguably the last if Top Store isn’t included in the list. Though I am fairly
certain that there will be another unofficial major tournament to celebrate the
end of 2012 and hopefully there is. Yugioh is in another stagnant period. It is
weird to say so when we have just received more alternatives to play with but I
am quite certain the cause of this unexplained state is due to the exhaustion
many has felt battling through the March 2012 format (in other words, the
Inzektors format.) In some ways, people are stopping for a breather before
heading out for another load of expected bullshit. My fingers remains crossed
and I do believe this is the calm before a storm. With Constellars and
Evilswarms coming into Malaysia’s competitive scene this month I doubt this
unproductive atmosphere will continue any longer.
By the end of this month, Malaysia would have Wind-Ups,
Constellars, and Evilswarms flooding the scene. Mainsprings are already in the
scene but many hasn’t got the chance to get everything they need to run that
deck so it wouldn’t be until mid of November when a repeat in history takes
place. Without a doubt, Wind-Ups and Verz are going to be the dominating decks
spearheading another change of format here. Heroes will continue to shine but
many will soon forget about it (at least, until they eat a Super Poly and Miracle
Fusion in their face) causing another shift in the Metagame. However, I see a
lot of potential with Sacreds and I might take them up. For all that’s said I am
thankful enough to have received news of Sacred Ptolemys Messier 7 and Sacred
Pleiades being reprinted. Not forgetting Constellar Omega being official now. Omega
is just plain broke!
However, entering and reaching the climax of team tournament
season soon, there is one deck in particular that will regain its place in the
Meta through hype. That deck is non-other than the infamous Dark Worlds. Having
said that, it’s not all talk and no action with Grapha’s legion. When toys hit
Malaysian shores hard Grapha will be laughing expecting to deal with them. Deck
Devastation Virus it is. Not only that, Eradicator Epidemic Virus seems to
promise a fair bargain as well. All and
all, there are favorable match-ups for Grapha’s army this format. Of course,
Dark Smog and Tour Guide shouldn’t be forgotten together with powerful promo
Exceeds like Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder and Number 22: Fran Ken
joining the empire of the dragon lord. The deck now runs a different ball game
and for now it doesn’t look like a joke (given if the Dark Worlds don’t kill
themselves.)
I can’t say for sure how much change will Cosmo Blazer and
the new Structure Deck will affect the Meta (mainly because I haven’t had time
to take a good look at them) but being the new toy in the house Flaming Stars
and whatnot will see a minimum amount of play. If they do end up being broken,
you know the drill. If not, you know the drill as well. LOL! No, I haven’t
sidetracked Mermail Atlanteans. It is living up to its hype and will continue
to do amazing until Konami says no. In a nutshell, this is how the Meta in
Malaysia will shape to be: Mermails, Verz, Heroes, Wind-Ups, and Dark Worlds. I
believe these five decks will make up the Tier 1 and 1.5 (unless something else
happens.) I don’t exactly have a topic to discuss on today but I thought it
would be nice to do a quick review on how the Malaysian Meta will look like in the
near future. I hope you have enjoyed reading this post. Stay tune for more to
come and as always thank you for reading!
