The Japanese crusade continues! Rolling With The Top Dogs continues to bring you talented duelists from around the world. This week I introduce to you Kento Tonegawa. He has recently seen some success in the 100^th YCS thus earning him a spot in this section. Let us hear from Kento Tonegawa himself!

(This event boasts 4300+ participants for those who are not aware. But I’m sure everyone knows.)

How is the meta in your country performing at the moment?　

Inzektors, Hieratics, Laval and HEROes are currently the top contenders. Rabbit decks has been decreasing lately.

Do you think TCG exclusives provides positive changes in OCG's meta?

In my opinion, I think they bring positive changes. Tour Guide and Dolkka are very powerful! In YCS Long Beach, I was overwhelmed by these cards.

Has Yugioh's progression gotten better and do you enjoy playing the game as of now?

I’m enjoying the game. But it has become very difficult. Small mistakes can directly linked to losing a  game. Fun and difficult at the same time.

How do you prepare yourself upon entering a major tournament?　

By sleeping well!

How do you usually choose which deck to play? Is it preference or passion?

Basically, I use in-trend decks. I am now using Laval. But sometimes I prefer to use my favorite decks like Lightsworn and Gladiator Beast.

What is your major focus when it comes to side-decking?

The change factor. Or versatility. There are multiple uses in these type of cards. Example, Crow and Evacuation Device. They are not only useful against Synchro decks, they can be used against decks like Heroes as well.

What is the best or fastest way to improve yourself as a player,in your opinion?

More and more play! It is important to continue practice everyday even if it is only one match. Training is important.

If you were given the right to ban a card, which card would it be? Why?　

Monster Reborn or Heavy Storm. Win or lose is sometimes determined by who top-decks those cards first. Slightly unfair.

If Konami would allow you to unbanned a card, which card would it be? Why?　

Fishborg Blaster. It's good card. Now that Trishula has been banned and Dewloren semi-limited, it cannot be abuse for OTK purpose any longer.

Apart from banned list, if you were given the chance to change something in Yugioh, what would it be?

Eliminate the borders between OCG and TCG players!

Eliminating the borders between OCG and TCG players, that indeed is a good point. I would love to help contribute in that to be honest. I will do my best to include players from other Asian regions into this section next time. Hopefully with that, players around the world can get to know talented and good players from the OCG side.
